EHV Power is one of the few Canadian companies specialized in extra high voltage transmission services (69-765 kV). We are part of Quanta Services, a leading specialized contracting services company with operations throughout North America. We offer comprehensive EPC (Engineer – Procure – Construct) capabilities for underground transmission, overhead transmission, substations, switchyards, transformer stations, as well as the electrical scope in the renewable energy field: collector systems, substations and transmission/distribution interconnects. Having worked all across Canada, EHV Power has built long standing relationships with major utilities, independent power producers and developers from coast to coast. Our company is an IBEW signatory contractor, which provides access to a large pool of qualified resources in every location where we execute projects

OUR HISTORY

Our origin can be traced back to Canada Wire & Cable. After the company was acquired by Alcatel in 1991 it changed its name to Alcatel Canada Wire (ACW). In 1996 ACW’s high voltage division was closed, but the engineering and projects group decided to preserve the expertise and started-up EHV Power in 1997. EHV stood as an independent company until InfraSource Services acquired it in 2005. Quanta Services in turn acquired InfraSource Services in 2007, and since then EHV Power belongs to the largest transmission services contracting group in North America.
